Know
- Did the Holy Spirit highlight anything for you in Sunday’s sermon?
Grow
- Would you consider salvation to be an event or a process? Share the reason why you think this.
- Why might it be that Jesus used spit on both these men, when no other healing account before this mentions Jesus using spit? Why this time?
- Why did it take “two goes” for Jesus to heal the blind man in Mark 8:25?
- Have you ever had a moment of crisis in your faith? Perhaps you were already saved, but this crisis moment did a ‘decisive work’ in your spirit? Talk about it.
- In both healing accounts (Mark 7 and Mark 8), Jesus gets the people alone, away from the crowd. Read Matthew 6:6 – why is the ‘secret place’ such an important place for the follower of Jesus?
- Is the entrance way to your secret place with God well-trodden or dusty through lack of use?
- Think of some real-life things that prevent us from regularly meeting Jesus in the quiet. Share with your group.
- Read Romans 8:23-27. Note how often the word “groan” is used and the context. How does this passage help us understand Jesus’ groan or sigh in Mark 7:34?
- Have you ever groaned in your prayer life? As much as you are able, share with the group what that was like.
- How do you know if your current spiritual vision is all it should be? How do you know if you are seeing clearly?
- Why is it vital that we keep coming back to Jesus and allowing Him to keep healing us and restoring us?
Show
- This week pray Ephesians 1:17-19 over those in your growgroup and for others close to you.
