Know
- K1 Not “What do you do?” or “How do you do?” but “Why do you do?”. Take time to think about why do you do.
Grow
- G1 Why do we ask someone new “What do you do?”
- G2 If workaholism is work taken to the extreme and laziness is rest taken to the extreme, why is workaholism viewed as socially acceptable when laziness isn’t?
- G3 What’s the difference between someone who works hard and a workaholic? What might be some tell-tale signs?
- G4 Why do you think Proverbs says so many positive things about hard work and so little about the dangers of workaholism?
- G5 “Proverbs are probabilities, not promises” (The Bible Project) In what ways does this change how we read the book of Proverbs?
- G6 Read Colossians 3:22-24. Who is this written to? Who should we be working for? Why? (look for clues in the verses)
