The Scripture: Jeremiah 1:4-9
The One Thing: God is the Recruiter (God's calling is greater than our insecurity)

THE JEREMIAH INVENTORY
What is God calling me / recruiting me to (verse 4)?
What is my “ALAS?” (verse 6) “Alas, Sovereign Lord for I don’t know how to _________________________________”
“I am too ___________________________”

What could be the blessings if I am obedient to God?
What could be the real-world consequences if I refuse God?
Is my telescope the right way round?
Am I (a) magnifying my worries and minimizing God?
Or am I (b) magnifying God and right-sizing my worries?

Do I believe that God knows me better than myself and knows better how to deploy me?
Do I believe that God (who exists outside of time) already sees the blessing that has come from my obedient “yes”?

If you are willing to lay aside your “Alas” and give God your “Yes”, pray the following:

I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.” (Wesley Covenant Prayer)
