G1 Do you think Jesus demand re: forgiveness is realistic? What about war crimes? Rape? Murder?
G2 Where are you in the story? Who do you identify with?
G3 Why did Jesus use such absurdly HIGH numbers when answering Peter about forgiveness: 490 times to forgive someone? The servant owed $6 Billion Dollars? Why didn’t Jesus make it a bit more realistic?
G4 Did anything strike you about Hadassah’s story? (You can read it in full here -kellyrbaker.com/free-from-bitterness-and-resentment/
G5 Imagine being the servant forgiven of a $6 Billion debt. What are your feelings? What would possess you to go to a fellow servant and punish them for owing you peanuts in comparison?
G6 Matthew 18:34. The King (God) was motivated by his anger. How does this jive with the idea of God that you have in your mind / heart?
G7 If you aren't showing mercy to others, how might that be an indication that you are not being shaped by the gospel? *
